Gokou watched in horror as his young son was pounded again by the perfect android - Cell. He had failed, he had lost and told his son to take his place. He could do it- couldn't he?
I am a river
Down in the valley
Oh I am a vision
And I can see clearly
He winced as Gohan received another blow. He wouldn't give up, Gokou knew, but he had the power to kill Cell, and wouldn't use it! He continued to play around, wasting time. He watched as Gohan stood, glaring angrily at the android. Electricity flashed in the air around him- his power was immense.
If anybody asks you who I am
Just stand up tall
Look 'em in the face
And say
He had acheived the second level. He was stronger than any of the other fighters - even his own father. Gohan had finally outmatched Cell. Cell no longer overpowered him... but why wouldn't he just destroy him?
The android smirked evilly, and started speaking again, but Gohan was barely listening to him. The android's eyes narrowed, and the boy scowled at him.

Gokou shouted again. Gohan wasn't listening... why? He heard him- Gokou knew. Another blow from Gohan left the android wincing and grabbing at his abdomen. Had he ruptured something? An organ, perhaps?
The warriors watched, shocked, as Juuhachigou - Android 18 - fell to the ground. This shock was outmatched by the one that followed, when Cell reverted to his previous form!

Cell was shocked. He stared down at the unconscious female android at his feet. No longer perfect... no longer at the strength he was... He had been outmatched in Perfect form, now what would happen? He needed a plan... something to change the battle's course...

Down in the jungle
Gokou watched as Cell started to laugh. He was inflating at an incredible rate... what was his plan? Was this a method of powering up? Was this supposed to make him stronger some how? So many questions, but not many answers...

Oh I am a helping hand
I am a hero
Gohan fell to his knees. He had failed... Cell planned to self-destruct, taking the Earth and all on it with him. Why hadn't he killed him sooner? Why had he waited so long? Everyone was going to die... and it was all his fault...
If anybody asks you who I am
Just stand up tall
Look 'em in the face and say
"I failed... father," Gohan muttered quietly to himself. "I'm so sorry."

Gokou smiled, he knew what to do. He turned to his friends, and nodded. Goodbye, he thought quietly. He transported away instantly, not hearing the screams of his best friend...

Gohan looked up, shocked. His father materialized in front of him, fingers to his forehead and a hand on Cell's inflating body. Gohan's eyes swelled with tears, expressing how he felt and apologizing for not finishing when he'd had the chance...
The boy shook, holding back sobs. Gokou's eyes filled with pride. He spoke a few words to his only child, and narrowed his eyes.
It's the greatest
Gohan screamed as his father disappeared. Sacraficing himself to save the world.... He truly was a hero. His father was a hero...
